Amsterdam-born Ernst Lanting began emerging on the drum-and-bass scene in 2016 under the name Edlan. Before turning to drum and bass, Lanting produced house music; music playing in his father’s car first sparked his interest in electronic music. A meeting with producer Nymfo at DJ school led to mentorship, and Nymfo helped introduce Edlan’s music to labels. Edlan first became known for melodic, atmospheric liquid drum and bass, a style also described as dreamy liquid production.
In 2021, Edlan released his debut album, Landmarks, on Liquicity. Road trips with his parents provided inspiration for the album. His releases also include the Fokuz Recordings EPs Grids, Lone Pine, Cold Nights and Ravine. Edlan has put out music through Integral, Pilot, Differential and High Tea, as well as Liquicity and Fokuz Recordings. He founded ATNMY in 2022, adding label work to his production and DJ roles.
Edlan’s collaborations include “Intercept” with Bert H, “The Way of Time” with Smote and “Feel Again” with Cooper Stites. Capturelight and Alec Primavera joined him on the track “Falling Faster”, released through Liquicity Records. Edlan has played at Liquicity Festival and Rampage Open Air. His 2025 releases include the single “Lost Earth” on Moonshine and the single “Gossip / Things Will Never Be The Same” with KINSELLA on Galacy Records.
In 2025, Edlan also released the single “Start Fresh (Edlan Remix)” with Wendy Moore on Moore Music. In 2026, he released the single “1000 Pages” with RIENK on ATNMY.
