Manchester is the base for Kintsuku, the solo project of singer-songwriter and producer Ellie Jones. Jones is also a vocalist, and recorded vocals in a home studio in Manchester for Third Development. She wrote and performed lyrics on six tracks for the project’s initial album. The work with Third Development connects Kintsuku’s production and songwriting roles with vocal performance, while the project’s other credits include collaborations with drum & bass producer Boxplot and with Audioscribe.
Kintsuku’s 2021 single “Who You Are” is among the project’s earlier releases. The EP Infinite Spaces, credited with Audioscribe and Dylan Longworth, came out on Pilot; Kintsuku also appears on its title track. The single “A Walk in the Sun” was released on Electro Petal Records. In 2024, Kintsuku put out the EP Louder Than Ever, which includes a remix by El Hornet. Other collaborations include the track “From The Start” with Boxplot, the EP Distance with Violet Springs and Ingot, and the single “Swim (Extended Mix)” with Titus1.
