Figure

Figure is the stage name of Josh Gard, an electronic music producer and DJ from Evansville, Indiana. Gard adopted the name after shortening his graffiti name, “Action Figure,” when he focused on DJing, which he began before becoming known as a producer. His productions use horror-film samples, and his Monsters series pairs them with drumstep tracks. He has also described his music as spanning different tempos and styles rather than being limited to dubstep.

Figure has produced the soundtrack for Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights each year since 2012. His releases have appeared on OWSLA, Never Say Die, Disciple, Rottun, SMOG, Cyclops Recordings and DOOM Music. His EP Horns of the Apocalypse came out through OWSLA, and his 2015 album Gravity appeared on DOOM Music. The EP Heartbeat Of Hell is another release. He toured with fellow dubstep artist Protohype on the Outta This World tour.

His collaborations include CasOne, Del the Funky Homosapien, Kool Keith and Tommy Lee. Figure released the single The Doses / War Fair on One For All Records in 2010, followed by Kingston To Amsterdam on Emengy Bass and Baragon on DOOM MUSIC in 2025. In 2026, he released Purge (Remix EP) with DC Breaks and Prolix on Viper Recordings, and Been About This with Prolix on Trendkill Records. His music has also appeared alongside Diplo, Flux Pavilion, Excision, BT, Tommy Sunshine and Borgore. In 2026, he released The Thing Expanded (Original Documentary Soundtrack) with Destryur on NRW Records, under exclusive license to NewRetroWave, LLC.
