Harriet Jaxxon grew up in Whitstable, Kent, listening to jungle from her father’s record collection, including music by DJ Ron and Roni Size. She studied music technology and learnt to DJ through local promoters, playing events in Whitstable before moving towards drum and bass. House and UK garage were part of her work before that shift, as was touring as a DJ for Ministry of Sound. Andy C was an influence, and Jaxxon warmed up for him as well as Shy FX and Chase & Status; she also warmed up for Sub Focus, Wilkinson and Dimension.
Later radio roles included residencies on Rinse FM and BBC Radio 1, alongside Rinse FM appearances such as a show with MC Lowqui recorded in Tulum, Mexico. Jaxxon also hosted shows on Capital FM and held a residency there. Jaxxon’s releases include the track The Sound, released on Drum&BassArena, and a remix of Voltage’s “Save Me From Myself”. Hospital Records and Souped Up Records are among the labels to release her music. On Souped Up, Jaxxon put out a two-track EP featuring “Stop Me” and “4 Me”; another release is the track “The Story of Women”. Her other releases include “What We Gonna Do”, a collaboration with Tali. “Rave Kids” marked her debut on Crucast.
Her DJ sets draw on foundation and future sounds, while drum and bass remains the root of her work. She has won Best Female DJ at the D&B Awards twice, played Glastonbury and Amnesia Ibiza, and runs TRAXX:ON nights. She was also a resident DJ for RAM Records.
