Krot

In Saint Petersburg, Krot began listening to drum and bass in 1998, started producing in 2004 and began his career as a DJ and producer in 2005. The project is the drum-and-bass work of Russian producer and DJ Kirill Orlov, who started DJing in 2007. Krot’s sound centres on old-school neurofunk, alongside releases in soulful and liquid funk drum and bass. That range is reflected in work for Neuropunk, Eatbrain, TAM Records and High Resistance, as well as Close2Death, Mindtech, Greypost Audio and Blu Saphir. In 2009, he released the single Iodine, Rec(NickBee Remix) on TAMRECORDS with NickBee.

Neuropunk Records has also made Krot a resident, with Orlov regularly taking part in the label’s podcast. His releases have reached Viper Recordings and Trust In Music, among other labels. In 2023, he released the EP Resurrector; in 2025, he followed it with the single “Primanka / All the Wishes”. Both arrived amid a run of releases spanning labels including Neuropunk, High Resistance and Eatbrain. Krot has also released tracks and remixes featuring Russian vocals, including remixes for Dora and Basta.

In 2026, Neuropunk Records released Krot’s album Syndicate LP, with contributions from 2Whales, 3xil3, ChaseR and Dextems, among other artists. That year’s singles also included “Von Fakano”, made with Dextems for Neuropunk Records, and “Hole Things”, a collaboration with Ozma for Tonrecords. “Inverse Harmony Vip” appeared as a single under Krot’s own name, while “Отпусти Меня” came out on High Resistance. The 2026 releases also included “Обещай”, issued on КОСТЁР.
