Seattle-born producer Omar Kadmiri adopted the name Kumarion in 2015, after becoming interested in drum and bass in 2011. Ska, punk and reggae, alongside Moroccan traditional percussion, were among his early musical influences. Hearing Noisia’s “Shellshock” inspired Kadmiri to pursue music production, and he says he began releasing music in 2019 after around ten years of producing. He began taking production seriously in 2013, and his music draws heavily on drum and bass culture. His 2019 single 1984 came out on Play Me Too Records. He describes his work as drum and bass and bass music; Kumarion’s sound combines aggressive energy with melodic elements. He is an independent producer known for bass-heavy production and mixing expertise.
The 2020 single Want It, released through Jadu Dala, brought Kumarion wider attention. The track drew support from CloZee and other artists, including Boombox Cartel, Feed Me, JOYRYDE, Madeon and RL Grime. His track “Enemy” appeared on RL Grime’s Sable Valley Summer, Vol. 1 compilation. Kumarion also released the two-track EP Closer / Wanna through UKF’s Pilot imprint.
In 2021, Kumarion put out “Pure Action” on Monstercat, “Instinct” on UKF, “Bad” on Jadu Dala and “Aura” on Deadbeats. He joined Bensley and Colleen D’Agostino for the single “I Am Here”, released through mau5trap, and teamed up with Dirt Monkey on the Deadbeats release “CONKA”. Kumarion also released “Resonate/Shaman” on WAKAAN. He collaborated with REAPER on the track “The Uprising” and with Smoakland on the 2023 High Rollers EP, released by Deadbeats. In 2024, he joined Justin Hawkes and Bensley for the EP Carry The Fire. In 2025, he collaborated with SubDocta on Girls, released through Kannibalen Records, and released Sell My Soul (VIP) with Bensley and Justin Hawkes on Pilot, as well as Lights Out on Jadu Dala. His 2026 singles include Going Down and Got Bounce, the latter made with STUCA.
