Lens is the stage name of Ellen Lewin, a drum-and-bass DJ and producer who grew up in Brighton. She began DJing in the city’s drum-and-bass scene and developed her early career through club residencies, including at Volks. Her sets draw on jungle-influenced selections, and she has spoken about persistence and immersion in the scene as important to her development. After establishing herself as a DJ, Lewin studied electronic music production at Point Blank Music School in London. She is based in the UK and works as a producer as well as a DJ.
Lens is affiliated with Hospital Records, where her first track, Love The Way, featuring Lally, came out as a single in 2022. That year also brought the Marufo EP on Spearhead Records. Her collaborations include tracks with Issey Cross, LZee, Emily Makis, Diagnostix, Sarah Ikumu and BCee. She co-hosts Hospital Records’ Rinse FM show and made a 2022 mix for BBC Radio 1. Her DJ selections have also been noted for dynamic double drops, and London and Bristol are among the regions where she has played most.
In 2026, Lens released Monster on Shogun Audio with Shapes and Takura, and CARNAGE on Grown Records with Lady Ice. Further 2026 singles included Whole Place Lift / Plus, released on Lens, and OMI on Warehouse Project Records. The same year brought Check 2 (feat. Paul Stephan) on UKF.
