Mandidextrous

Mandidextrous is the stage name of Mandi Gordon, a Bristol-based producer and DJ who uses they/them pronouns and identifies as trans non-binary. Gordon began DJing in the late 1990s in the free-party and illegal-rave scene. Their work draws on drum and bass, techno and rave, and is associated with free tekno and jungletek. Gordon founded Amen4Tekno, a label focused on raggatek, hardtek and jungletek that became a home for jungletek and raggatek artists.

Gordon’s fast four-to-the-floor approach is associated with speed bass, a sound drawing on bassline, garage and drum and bass, with tekno influences. They later established Speedbass Recordings to develop and share the style, launching the label in 2025 with the single Needed You. Mandidextrous also performs as Mastral.

In 2022, Mandidextrous made Hold Your Rhythm with Selecta J-Man, Inja and A Little Sound for Boomtown’s closing ceremony; RAM Records released the track. Gordon made Ravers Anonymous with Samurai Breaks and vocalist Leanne Louise, and the same collaborators worked on Phone Call Riddim. Gordon’s first event appearance on Resident Advisor was in 2011. In 2013, Mandidextrous released Kaotik 05 on Kaotik with Suburbass.

In 2026, Mandidextrous released Vigilante Kru on Speedbass Recordings and La Cocaína on Mandidextrous Recordings. DEADHEADS, made with Matt Scratch, came out on Amen4Tekno Digital. Other 2026 credits include You Had it (Mandidextrous & Samurai Breaks Remix), with Dope Ammo, Kleu and Samurai Breaks, and Tunnel Vision (Prdk remix), with Prdk and Tanukichi. Gordon played at Mint XL on 2 October 2026.
