Samurai Breaks began releasing music in 2016, when Sam Langley Grattan put out the single My Sound / Run on Halogen Music. A UK producer and DJ, Grattan works across footwork, jungle, bassline, 4×4 rave and grime, with his sound often running at 160 BPM and above. In 2021, Samurai Breaks won DJ Mag’s Best Breakthrough Producer award.
In 2024, Samurai Breaks and Napes collaborated on the EP Wavelord Bizniz. Grattan has also performed back-to-back with Mandidextrous, Fixate, NAINA, Pete Cannon, Sully and Addison Groove. His 2026 singles include Sneakin' In Da Night on Weapons and Hunted EP on All The People. He joined Thys for Freak Frontier II on VISION, and Disrupta for Inside The Rider (Samuari Breaks Edit) on Crucast.
Another 2026 release, You Had it (Mandidextrous & Samurai Breaks Remix), credits Dope Ammo, Kleu and Mandidextrous alongside Samurai Breaks, and came out on Dope Ammo Records. On 10 October 2026, Samurai Breaks played at Fuchs2. Earlier that month, the DJ performed at FORGE and Port Beach Brewery.
