Cardiff was where Marcus Coakley, known as Mr Traumatik, first became interested in MCing: at 18, he attended a drum and bass event featuring Shy FX and MC Skibadee. The Welsh MC works across drum and bass and grime, and is also identified as a producer. His 2014 debut album, Traumatised, established an early album release in his career. He has described his music as spanning dark, high-energy material as well as more thoughtful, controversial and mystical themes, and is known for provocative lyrics and a distinctive style.
Among his later album releases are Post Traumatik Stress Disorder, Don't Judge a CD by Its Cover and Traumatised Volumes. Coakley said Dr. Dimensional reflected personal change, and that he preferred making solo projects to working with collaborators. His collaborations include the track “Magic” with Spookasonic and Frenzee, released in 2025 on DistroKid, and the single “Balling (Edit)” with Songer, Devilman and Oneda.
