Murdock

Murdock is Belgian DJ and producer Hans Machiels, who released the 2012 single Black Out VIP on Radar Records. He runs the label and founded Rampage, which began as drum-and-bass and dubstep nights at Antwerp’s Trix club before developing into an event brand and festival. His music has appeared on CIA Recordings, V Recordings, Hospital Records, Viper Recordings, Liquicity, Dispatch Records and Monstercat. He has worked with Netsky, Submatik and Doctrine, among others, and describes himself first as a drum-and-bass DJ while also including dubstep in his sets.

His 2019 album Stronger preceded X-Ray, released in 2024. Murdock said the later album grew out of music he made during the COVID lockdowns, and its collaborators include Ruth Royall, INVOLVER and Omar Perry. He made Come Together with Pat Fulgoni; Murdock described the track as drawing on rolling bass and classic breakbeats, with a sound inspired by the late 1990s.

In 2023, Murdock released Light with Andromedik on NCS. His 2025 singles included Amnesia, with Gracie Van Brunt, on X-RAVE, and Take You Home, with Eskei83 and Joe Killington, on DnB Allstars. In 2026, Frontline Sound (Rampage Anthem 2026), featuring MC Mota, appeared on Rampage Recordings, and he teamed up with Ruth Royall for Monstercat’s Tightrope.

His DJ activity has taken him to Melkweg, one of his most-played clubs, and to Amsterdam, Belgium, Cologne, Antwerp and Bristol. In 2026, he played at Melkweg on 7 September and Bootshaus on 24 May. In March, he played at Karma Live Music Venue and Quantum; in February, at Helios37; and in January, at Ministry Of Sound. His first event on Resident Advisor was in 2013.
