Nia Archives is the stage name of Dehaney Nia Lishahn Hunt, a British-Jamaican producer, DJ, vocalist and songwriter born in Bradford and raised in Leeds. Hunt moved to Leeds at seven, left the family home at sixteen and later lived in Greater Manchester and London. As a teenager, she taught herself music production. Jungle documentaries and the women featured in them became an inspiration after her move to Greater Manchester. Her music draws on jungle and drum and bass, with jungle breakbeats set against emotional songwriting, a contrast she has described as central to her sound.
In 2020, Hunt released the single Sober Feels on her own label, HIJINXX, which she founded and used for early self-released music. DJ Flight mentored her through the EQ50 Mentorship Scheme. The EP Headz Gone West followed in 2021, then Forbidden Feelingz in 2022 and Sunrise Bang Ur Head Against The Wall in 2023. Her work with Lava La Rue includes a remix of “Magpie” made with Rebel MC. In 2024, she released Crowded Roomz on HIJINXX and Island Records, and collaborated with Jamie xx on Waited All Night (Nia Archives Remix). Her collaboration with PinkPantheress continued with the 2025 single Illegal + Nia Archives.
The album Silence Is Loud arrived in 2024, with releases also appearing on Island Records. Goldie gives a spoken-word introduction on its track “Tell Me What It’s Like.” In April 2025, Hunt launched the label Up Ya Archives with the single Get Loose, a collaboration with Cheetah. She released Maia Maia with CLIPZ on Up Ya Archives that year. Her 2026 album Emotional Junglist came out on Universal-Island Records Ltd. Warner Records issued the collaboration with PinkPantheress.
