Peter Kurten, whose real name is Pierre Colmant, is a producer, DJ and remixer from Dour, Belgium. Active in drum and bass since 2002, Kurten had his first tracks signed in 2005. His work also spans jungle, hardcore, breakbeat, dubstep and techno, and he plays guitar, bass and drums in metal bands. Kurten founded Evil Beats, a label that has released his music alongside Genosha 175, T3K, Union and Yellow Stripe.
Among his releases are the albums Dawn of a New Day and Into the Garden of Death, as well as the two-track release The Time Of War. Kurten has worked with Switch Technique, Zardonic, The Outside Agency, Katharsys and DJ Hidden, both on collaborations and remixes. His other credited collaborators include Section 63, Coman Dante and Air J. He became a Therapy Session artist and toured Europe for drum and bass events organised by Robyn Chaos.
In 2025, Kurten won Barcode’s remix contest and made the duomix “3 Days Timeline” for a compilation marking the label’s 50th release. That year he also released the single “System Error” with Air J on Therapy Sessions Recordings and “Monster Zero” on Evil Beats Recordings.
