R3IDY

Burton-on-Trent-based producer and DJ Jakob Reid makes drum and bass as R3IDY. After years of bedroom DJing, Reid began producing during the COVID-19 lockdown. He has described his music as dark and stripped-back, with gritty basslines and steppy drum patterns; his sound has also been associated with dark rollers and warm sub-bass. Other labels to release his work include Phase Records, Rebel Music, Trust Audio, DnB Allstars and Skankandbass.

In 2022, R3IDY released the EP Paroxysm on Yamatai Records. He launched Situate Audio in 2023, with the aim of building a community of artists and putting out drum and bass, dubstep and garage. His work with vocalist and MC Natty D includes the single “The Procedure / Is This Real”, released on Situate Audio, and the DnB Allstars MIC project. Situate Audio also released the two-track single “Clasp” and “Confession”.

In 2024, R3IDY and Leks released the EP Deepest Truths on Yamatai Records. R3IDY has also released the EP Sessions on Trust Audio, and his label releases include work for Soulvent Records. His recorded appearances include DnB Allstars, Skankandbass and Trust Audio. R3IDY’s 2025 single Spindle / Uh Nuh came out on Yamatai Records as his first release of that year. With Kumo, he released “Set It Off” on Liondub International. He also joined Leks, Speaker Louis and Chamba on Yamatai Records’ two-track single “Late Night Antics” and “Jungle Survival”.
