London producer Shyun, whose real name is Andy Khavand, began releasing solo work with the 2016 single Move, made with Lauren Cole for Mayan Audio. A year later, Unfold came out on Critical Music, and Shyun appeared on the label’s 15 Years of Underground Sonics album. The appearance preceded a solo release on Critical’s Systems series, SYSTEMS 010, which pairs “Circles” featuring Charli Brix with “Sentry”, made with Cruk.
In 2018, Shyun released The Beast EP, his first solo EP for Critical Music. It includes “Watch Your Step”, featuring SOLAH. Shyun and Cruk, previously known as Shyun & Cruk, went on to release the five-track collaborative EP See It Our Way on Critical Music in 2019. They later formed the duo Fade Black, whose Condemned EP features “Sane” with Leo Law.
