In Warsaw, producer Konrad Celiński began making music as Subformat in 2008, with early productions spanning uplifting trance, tech house, deep house and hands-up. From 2012, Celiński turned towards breakbeat, downtempo, drum & bass and jungle; those styles remain part of Subformat’s musical range. That year, Subformat worked with Charli Brix on the single More, released on Monstercat.
Subformat released the Turbine EP on Nu Venture Records in 2016, featuring the tracks Turbine, Expansion and Outrun. The single Penguin Calls followed in 2019 on Liquicity Records, and Subformat released the single Encounter in 2022. Nu Venture Records, Liquicity Records and Monstercat are among the labels to have released Subformat’s music. Celiński’s productions have included both jungle and drum & bass, as well as breakbeat and downtempo, following the change in styles from the early work.
