Greek producer Steve Foskolos makes drum and bass as Throttler, drawing on breakbeat and jungle for a dark, fast style. Foskolos has said that hearing drum and bass on Greece’s Life FM 89.2 sparked his early interest in the genre, with Ray Keith, Trace and Dom & Roland among his inspirations. In 2009, Throttler released the single Grim Noire / Digital ID with DJ Hidden on Bug Klinik Records. He founded Throttler Recordings in 2010 and has also put out music on Ohm Resistance, Tech Cycle, Amalgam, Freak, Killing Sheep, Sustained and Alphacut.
Throttler’s releases include the EP Hunt Down / Threat Factory on Tech Cycle Recordings and the EP End Of Message on Mindocracy Recordings. The single Overbrewed VIP / No Harm VIP, a collaboration with vocalist Lowbss, came out on Tech Cycle Recordings in 2015. Foskolos and Lowbss also work together as TLP, making experimental and downtempo music as well as collaborating on drum and bass. In 2021, Throttler released the single electriCity on Throttler Recordings.
