South London-born Yung Saber grew up in a musical household, with a DJ mother, reggae DJs among his parents and an older brother who MC’d. He has said he had been making music for 20 years by the time of an interview in 2024. Super Cat and Vybz Kartel are among his stated influences, alongside the soundsystem culture and 1990s dancehall that inform his musical outlook. Dancehall and hip-hop are associated with his work, which also reaches into grime and drum and bass. Away from music, Yung Saber has worked as a freelance A&R, model and actor.
His 2016 single Like Jodeci appeared on 247 ENT. In 2021, Tump & Kick helped establish him in the UK dancehall scene and brought international attention, with radio play around the world. He later released two remixes of the track: one featuring Stylo G, and an all-star version featuring Big Zeeks, Shanti Force, The Rara, Doktor and Irah. Yung Saber’s collaborations also include D Double E, Giggs and Kings of the Rollers, as well as Jamaican artists Chi Ching Ching and Irah. His work with Tippa Irie, Guinney Pepper and Nvasion adds further names to that list.
Yung Saber performed Karl Kani with a live band during a BBC Maida Vale session with Seani B. His 2024 single Gucci Prada was released on 26 January. Later that year, he released the single M15/Normal, featuring Chi Ching Ching, through his own Yung Saber MUSIC label; Zed Bias produced it. Yung Saber has described a writing process that starts with recording as soon as he finds an instrumental, with the verse structure worked out afterwards.
In 2026, Yung Saber released Love Lives Here with Capone, Genius Cru and MC Fizzy on Matador Recordings UK, and Buss One with Doktor and Voltage on Hospital Records. His other 2026 singles were Yeah Yeah, made with Jazzwad for Fully International; Go Deh, released independently; and Bad Bad, featuring Mc Bushkin and Zed Bias on Biasonic. On 9 April 2026, he played at Brixton Jamm for a drum and bass fundraiser for Lives Not Knives.
