Box N Lock

Box N Lock is a drum and bass record label established by music enthusiasts, including Manchester producer and DJ Chimpo and If Khan, a Bristol-based collaborator associated with Transmit Signal. Launched in 2017, it first concentrated on music from Manchester artists such as Slay, DRS, Ragoloco and Stef Smith. The debut, “Killa’s Army,” featured Killa P, Irah and Long Range in a grime and dancehall crossover. The label’s musical approach pairs vocalists from those genres with Chimpo’s productions.

Its singles include Chimpo and Killa’s Army “Which One,” released in 2017, and Chimpo’s “Deep Freeze / Loose Leaf,” issued in 2024. Chimpo, Slay, Halogenix and DRS have released music through Box N Lock, which also puts out halftime tracks. The label issued the initial three volumes of its Jungle Plates series, as well as Ragoloco’s “Manchester Bee.”
