Founded in 2010 by London DJs and producers Dexta (Chris Royle) and Hunchbak (Jamie Schildhauer), Diffrent Music is an independent label based in London, United Kingdom. Its focus is drum and bass, and its artists include Anile, Dexta and Fearful. The label’s tenth release was a 10-inch vinyl featuring Frederic Robinson, issued in 2011. By February 2013, its releases included a record by Arkaik and “Choices”, a single by Mtwn and M-zine.
M-zine’s “Enclosed” followed in 2016, and the label released its first full-length album in 2017, Sense MC’s The Elephant in the Room. GiraffeStep began as a Diffrent Music sub-label and later became a series of digital singles issued between physical releases. The label hosts events and showcases in London and other locations. In 2020, Dexta said its aim was to release music outside a single mould, with artists drawing on influences beyond drum and bass. Diffrent Music is distributed by S.T. Holdings Ltd.
