Emcee Recordings is a London drum and bass label run in its early years by MC GQ, who heads it, and his business partner Mark Turner. It launched with a night at Fabric on September 15, 2000, where Cybin and MC GQ performed, and from the start it set out to give new talent a chance rather than lean on established producers.
Its early roster included Sabre, Jubei, Clipz and Cybin, and the label focuses on underground jungle and drum and bass. Breakage and Jubei released “Harvester / Still There” on Emcee on April 12, 2015, and Demure and Melinki’s “Never Coming Down” appeared in 2014. In 2025 the label issued “Step Pon Babylon” by Hurrian and MC GQ. Emcee also runs Emcee Publishing UK and the labels Just Noyze, No Logo and Primary Colours.
