Human Elements is Makoto’s drum and bass label, founded in 2009 and based in London. Its name comes from his debut album, Human Elements, and the label releases liquid funk. From 2011 Makoto used it as an exclusive outlet for his own music, starting that year with Souled Out and the single “Tower of Love”, featuring Paul Randolph, before Souled Out Remixed followed.
In 2023 Makoto and DJ Marky released “Found Magic” together, and Makoto’s other releases that year included “Into The Vibe” and “Show Me”. His “Watercolour” came out in 2025. L-Side and DJ Marky are among the other artists to release music on Human Elements. The label has a digital sub-label, HE:Digital, and its events have included nights in Tokyo’s Aoyama district.
