Intransigent Recordings was founded in Mainz, Germany, in 2000 by DJ G-I-S, who produced its first three releases. The German drum-and-bass label’s early sound paired Amen breaks with samples in German and harder-edged rhythms. By 2005, four singles had been released. DJ G-I-S’s “Mad as Hell / Murder” appeared as Intransigent 02 in 2002.
The Panacea’s “7.000.000.000 / Running Out Of Time” followed in 2011, after the label issued its *Intransigent Recordings Retrospektive - Vol. 1* compilation on 15 November 2010. Current Value’s “WMD / Cryogen”, numbered INTREC015, was released on 29 November 2010; Current Value also recorded “Time Of The Rain” with Snow for the label as INTREC017. Peter Kurten released “Drill / Speciality” in 2012. MC DubLN is associated with Intransigent Recordings as its lyrical voice. Counterstrike and DJ Hidden were also associated with the label.
