Mac 2 Digital is the digital arm of Mac II Records, the London drum and bass label DJ Randall and Coolhand Flex founded in 1996, after the Forest Gate record shop De-Underground Records stopped trading. The pair set it up to keep alive the collaborative spirit they had built with other artists around the shop, and its output takes in jungle and halftime as well as drum and bass.
In 2014 the label released Dave Owen’s Dirt Magirt, made with Jaybee and Ricardo Teamor, and the collaborative Crossfire EP – Session 2, which included a track by Serum and PaulT. The compilation Pieces Session II LP arrived in September 2017 and Benny L’s single Time 4 Da Switch in 2020. Leaf’s Roots Dub came out on Mac 2 Digital in 2024, and Bladerunner, Command Strange, Trex, Heist and C.A.B.L.E. have also released there. Mac 2 Digital has worked with other drum and bass labels on compilations and special projects.
