Project 51 Recordings began in August 2003, launched by Gridlok as his own label. Its opening release, “Mirror / Parasites,” paired Gridlok with Origin. The label puts out drum and bass, including Neurofunk and Techstep, with releases by Gridlok, Hive, The Upbeats and Borderline. Gridlok’s work for the imprint includes the albums Black Matter and Break the System, the latter issued in 2006. His VOID followed in 2009, and American Dream followed in 2013. In 2012, Project 51 Recordings released “Poisonous / Blender,” made by Gridlok and Prolix.
