PullUp Recordings operates from Cardiff, Wales, and was established by Sam Southan and John Lewis. Its roots lie in PullUp events, which started with a birthday party at Cardiff’s Undertone club in 2019. The label’s first release appeared in 2020, after the founders sped up their music-release plans when lockdown stopped events. Its music spans drum and bass, dancehall, UK garage and UK house, with a focus on party music. The label is also part of a UK-wide collective whose activity is concentrated largely in South Wales.
BSEARL, Bennie and DRZ are among the artists whose work has appeared on PullUp Recordings. The label issued Bennie’s single Bennie + Friends in 2020, and later put out drum and bass releases by Kray and Paleblu in 2022 and DRZ in 2023. SMG’s Temple EP and Bennie’s No Better EP each topped the Juno charts in 2022. PullUp supports Welsh artists and gives DJs and producers a platform, including emerging artist SMG.
