Tech Itch Recordings was founded in 1994 by Mark Caro, the producer known as Technical Itch. Based in England, the label releases drum and bass with a dark, gritty sound, including darkstep and techstep, and its output also spans breakbeat through the COVERT series. Darren Beale, known as Decoder, was Caro’s early production partner, and their work centred on darker jungle and drum and bass. Decoder’s “Circuit Breaker” was the label’s first strong-selling record and helped it secure distribution through Vinyl Distribution.
Artists on Tech Itch Recordings include Dylan, Trace and Decoder, alongside Technical Itch and Audio. Kenny Ken’s airplay of label tracks on Kiss FM helped bring the music to a wider audience. Later releases include Technical Itch’s White Label 005 from 2022 and his “Plate 002”, and the label’s Bandcamp store sells digital releases, vinyl and CDs.
