Audio is the stage name of British drum-and-bass DJ and producer Gareth Greenall, who grew up in Redhill, Surrey. As a teenager, he became interested in jungle and drum and bass through London’s Dance Kiss FM events. The late-1990s shift towards technology-led production drew him in for its fresh sound and techno and industrial influences. In a 2017 interview, he named Ed Rush & Optical, Bad Company, Konflict, Dom & Roland, Fierce and Trace as early influences. Before establishing himself as a producer, Greenall worked as a studio engineer and A&R at hard-house label Alphamagic.

In 2013, an announcement said his fourth album was due through Virus Recordings that November. Audio signed to RAM Records in 2014, with “Heads Up / Stampede” as his first release for the label. His releases have also appeared on Virus Recordings, Blackout Music and Rise Audio. His albums include To the Edge of Reason, Genesis Device, Beastmode and Where the Chaos Lies, as well as Force of Nature, released on Virus Recordings. Greenall formed the production group Pixel Fist and the duo Killbox with Ed Rush.

In 2019, Greenall founded Snake Pit Records, adding label work to his production and DJ roles. “Frog March” was the first single released on the label. That year also brought “Breach” on Blackout Music NL and “Way Of Life” on Neuroheadz. A further 2026 single, “Killer of Killers”, credited Audio with Ed Rush and Killbox.
