Bru-C

Bru-C is the stage name of Josh Bruce, an English rapper and MC from Long Eaton, Derbyshire, based in Nottingham. He began his music career in battle rap, and his music draws on UK rap, bassline, UK garage, drum and bass and grime. “Ten Toes” features MC Spyda, General Levy and Eksman, with production by Chase & Status. His second album, Smile, arrived in December 2020, with contributions from Example, Monrroe and Massapeals.

In December 2021, Bru-C signed with Def Jam Recordings. The single “No Excuses” reached the UK chart, and the 2024 album Family Only came out through 0207 Def Jam. His collaborations include “Paradise” with Wilkinson, “Streetside” with Bou and “You & I” with Simula. His other recorded collaborations include the 2022 single “Macala” with Aymos and BL Zero, released through Bridges For Music. In 2023, “Oh Baby (feat. bshp & Issey Cross) [MIST Remix]” paired bshp and Issey Cross with a MIST remix, while “TMO (Turn Me On) [feat. Kevin Lyttle] [Foura Remix]” featured Kevin Lyttle and a Foura remix; the former was released through Atlantic Records UK and the latter through Warner Records.

Bru-C played at Depot Mayfield in November 2024 and Marshall Arena the following month. In March 2025, he performed at Brewtown Upper Hutt and Cathedral Square.

His single “Kamehameha” came out on Phlexx Records in 2014. His first event recorded on Resident Advisor’s took place in 2011. Bru-C has said he wanted to take UK bassline into the mainstream and represent its culture. In 2026, he released “Warriors” with Smack One through Virgin Music Label And Artist Services (S&D).
