Jamie Cook, who releases music as Cooky, is a DJ and producer from Leeds. After going to raves, Cooky began producing in early 2019, having first been introduced to bass music by his sister, who played him Skepsis’s “Goes Like”. Cooky’s releases span UK garage, bassline and drum and bass, among other electronic styles. His first track with Crucast appeared on the label’s New Blood 2 EP, after which Cooky kept sending the label music. In 2016, he released “Love Again” on Elephant House with Drawen.
In 2020, Cooky made the four-track EP Let Me Go during lockdown and released it on Crucast. Cooky also won Darkzy’s remix competition, earning the chance to make an official remix of “Spell It Out”. The track “Behind” appeared on Crucast’s Shake The Bass 4 compilation. Cooky’s other Crucast releases include the single “The Way” and the track “Thinkin’ Of Me”, released in 2025. The EP Memories is also among Cooky’s releases. “Think About U” came out on JC Records in 2024, and “Different Story”, made with Oktae, was released on Chilli Tribe Records in 2026.
Cooky has worked with Tempza on the singles “Scars” and “For Life”, and with Tempza and Emba on “Proper Riddim”, a track released through Drum&BassArena. The single “Do You Feel Loved” brought Cooky together with Oktae and Emba. Cooky also collaborated with Franky Miller and Juhos Zsófi on the single “I Wanna B with U”.
