Australian producer COPYCATT is the stage name of Andre Butterworth, who grew up on Australia’s east coast and was based in Brisbane before moving to Denver in late 2023. COPYCATT began releasing music in 2015. His parents’ musical backgrounds and broad record collection influenced his approach, alongside old-school hip-hop and bass music; his sound has also been described as neuro-leaning.
His releases have appeared on Monstercat, Night Owl Collective, Junkfood Recordings, Saturate! Records, Upscale and Westwood Recordings. Among his singles are “Ham Fist”, made with Zane Schaffer for Upscale HQ in 2025, and “Nerves VIP”, a 2025 collaboration with Mr. Bill on Mr. Bill's Tunes. That year also brought the single “Make Ya Move” on Junkfood.
In 2025, COPYCATT discussed unreleased music, a productive recent period and adjusting to life in the United States. Music made with Chee and Zane Schaffer featured in a mix that year. In 2026, COPYCATT released the single “Butterfly” on Night Owl Collective and the single “PUNSH” under the COPYCATT name.
