Ed Rush & Optical comprises Ben Settle, who performs as Ed Rush, and Matt Quinn, known as Optical. The UK drum-and-bass duo work as producers, and the project is also associated with electronic music and techstep. They have challenged genre labels such as techstep, saying they wanted room to keep moving stylistically.
Many of their music-making ideas began when they were together in the studio, while later production and arranging could take place separately. Ed Rush & Optical also work as a drum-and-bass DJ project from the United Kingdom.
