Killer Hertz are a Brighton-based drum-and-bass trio who began the project with their identities kept private, explaining that they wanted attention to stay on the music. The members had known one another and worked together on other projects for years before forming the group, and at least two had substantial musical training. They describe their work as drum and bass, combining songwriting and production. Early releases included All Out on Viper Recordings and the Prometheus / Cryogenics EP. Levitation appeared on Friction’s Elevate imprint as part of the Quadrant EP, and the trio signed exclusively to Elevate Records in 2017. The trio’s members are Peter Chapman, Phil Jones and Philip Stoop.
Killer Hertz worked with Brighton vocalist Chris Girl Problem on Gorilla, then released Top Spot featuring Harry Shotta on Elevate Records in 2018. That year, Friction and Killer Hertz remixed Fatboy Slim’s Right Here, Right Now for Skint Records. The group also worked with Raphaella on More for Elevate Records and released More (Club Mix) in 2019. Their Viper Recordings releases include The Message and the collaboration Killa Man Jaro with Navigator, Harry Shotta and Tonn Piper.
Killer Hertz live format combines DJ performance with instruments and vocals. In 2025, the trio released Stay Another Night on Macky Gee Music with Macky Gee and Veronica Bravo, followed by Love On Me on Viper Recordings with Elipsa and Mollie Collins, and JBL on Right Good Records with Mollie Collins and Subten. In 2026, they released OH YEAH on Viper Recordings with Macky Gee and Virus Syndicate.
