Receptor

Receptor is the stage name of Russian drum-and-bass producer Dmitriy Veshunov, also known as Mitya. His early work arrived as Russia’s domestic drum-and-bass scene was growing in the mid-to-late 2000s, where he became a prominent figure. “Rhyno”, released through Breed 12 Inches, brought him wider attention; his early releases also included “Kurchatov” on Obsessions. His music has appeared on Breed 12 Inches, Obsessions, Beta Recordings, Mainframe and TAM Records. Veshunov is based in Volgodonsk and later moved to Moscow, where he took on commercial production work alongside his drum-and-bass output. He began his music career in 2004.

In Moscow, that work included advertising and productions for singers. Veshunov said the commercial projects helped him make more time for drum and bass again, after a period when little in the genre inspired him. He has described experimenting with hybrids drawing on psy-trance, Russian folk, pop, rock and ambient music. Receptor also remixed Noisia’s “Alpha Centauri” and Black Sun Empire’s “Dawn of a Dark Day”.

Receptor was a founding member of Gydra and is also a founding member of Evolution Chamber. His collaborations with Engage include “Bio”, “Wi-Fi Waves”, “Gothic” and “Surgeon”. The latter was released with Engage, while his “Girls” EP appeared on Beta Recordings. In 2019, he released “Suka” on Ignescent with Encode and Julia Marks.

In 2025, Receptor released “Привет” on КОСТЁР and “Якоря” on СЁРЧ with LINAMARI. In 2026, he released Rogue Transmission (Receptor Remix) on Evolution Chamber and Gulfstream on Receptor.
