In Brockley, southeast London, Marc Forrester began DJing at house parties when he was 13, playing reggae, rare groove and electro under the name Remarc. At 17, he moved to hardcore on pirate radio station Weekend Rush, later playing jungle there. He released the 1993 track Ricky on Dollar Records, the label he runs. The track brought him wider recognition, and his productions appeared on Dollar, White House, Kemet, Labello Blanco and Suburban Base. Remarc was prominent during jungle’s peak between 1993 and 1995. His younger brother is MC Eksman.
Remarc’s production is associated with chopped-up Amen-breaks, described as a hallmark of his jungle sound. Among his named tracks are R.I.P and Drum & Bass Wise, alongside Ricky. His work from jungle’s mid-1990s peak later formed the basis of two retrospective collections from Planet Mu, which included previously unreleased dubplates. The label released the album Unreleased Dubs ’94–’96 in 2004. Planet Mu also released his album Sound Murderer in 2003.
In 2021, Hospital Records released the single Salute (Remarc Remix), credited with Danny Byrd and MC GQ. Remarc played at Brix LDN on 13 June 2025 and Brixton Jamm on 6 June that year. On 17 October 2025, he played at Outernet Live, before returning to Brixton Jamm on 28 November. His 2026 performances included Brixton Jamm on 11 April and M.O.T. on 16 January.
