London-born Abdul Wahab, known as UK Apache, grew up in the city with an Iraqi father and an Indian South African mother. A vocalist and MC, he draws on jungle and reggae sound-system culture. His best-known work began with lyrics he had written years before recording them with Shy FX: the pair’s 1994 single Original Nuttah, released on SOUR, featured UK Apache vocals and established a lasting link between his name and the track.
UK Apache returned to the song with Shy FX in 2019 for the single Original Nuttah 25, which included a Chase & Status remix featuring IRAH. Other collaborations include the single Signs with Badmarsh & Shri and Gimme da Gal with DJ Phantasy and Shodan. In 2008, he worked with Benny Page on the track Nuttah Story, included on the release Jungle Story.
His later singles include ReRevolution and Intoxicated Love, both released in 2022, followed by United We Stand with Shodan and Westman in 2023. In 2024, UK Apache released What We Gonna Do with Missrepresent and Live Right with DJ Phantasy and Nicky Blackmarket; he also featured with MC Meelos on the single Live Right.
