DJ and producer Alex Franklin Thomas set up AFT Records, a Bristol label that releases drum and bass alongside deep and minimal sounds and presents itself as a home for drum and bass in the city. Its output includes albums as well as EPs, and its releases bring together emerging and established artists, pairing heavy beats and detailed melodies with soulful vocals. Carasel, In:Most, Sydney Bryce and Keeno are among the artists whose work has appeared on the label.
In 2012 AFT Records issued Carasel’s album Progression (Deluxe). Its releases also include Keeno’s remix of “Dreams Of Paradise” and Original Sin’s remix of “Time Sweep”. The compilation Next Wave 3 came out on December 17, 2018, and the series continued with Next Wave 4. In October 2023 the label released In:Most’s remix of “Pass By”, featuring Blacksmith, Sydney Bryce and Jackie Marua. Another compilation, Best of the Tree Twenty Twenty, gathered tracks from Oz, Dubbz and other producers around the label.
