Axtone Records began in 2005, founded by Swedish DJ and producer Axwell as an outlet for his own music, with James Sefton as co-founder. Its early releases included Together and Watch The Sunrise. The label later signed artists and put out electronic music from around the world, including house. Its releases included work by Sebastian Ingrosso, as well as artists such as 1991 and Andy C. In 2019, Axtone issued Nobody Else (1991 Remix), a single by 1991 and Axwell.
Simon Hills worked at Axtone’s London office after joining the label in 2009. Its parties showcased artists signed to the label, provided opportunities to try new music, and allowed audience responses to be heard. Axtone held celebrations marking its 15th anniversary in 2020. On November 14, 2025, the label released Believe Again (I Found U), a drum-and-bass single featuring Andy C, Axwell and Max C.
