Disciple is a bass music label founded in 2012 by Ross Jonathan Burr and Arthur Robin Talbott, with financial support from SKisM and Nicholas Sadler. The label started as a channel for Dodge & Fuski releases, initially issuing remixes by the duo. Incorporated in London on 25 October 2012, it moved to Bristol and then to Los Angeles in 2013. Disciple’s releases combine drum and bass with dubstep and trap, and its roster has included Virtual Riot, Dodge & Fuski, Modestep, Dirtyphonics and Fox Stevenson. The label has staged live shows in countries around the world featuring its artists.
In 2013, Disciple put out The Brig’s single Mutiny and marked its first year with the compilation Disciple 01: Purgatory. That collection brought together tracks and exclusive material from Habstrakt, Bar9, Getter, Barely Alive and Virtual Riot. Barely Alive’s debut EP for the label reached the top position in four Beatport genre charts within 24 hours of release. Disciple received a nomination for UKF’s Label of the Year award in 2014.
Previously called Disciple Recordings, the label took the shorter name Disciple in February 2016. In 2017, it established Disciple Round Table as a sub-label, with 12th Planet directing its A&R. The company was owned by Create Music Group by September 2019. Today it is an independent British-American label covering dubstep, riddim and trap as well as drum and bass.
