DNBB Recordings first operated as a Brazilian drum-and-bass brand in 2007, becoming a label in 2012. Its base is in Santo André, São Paulo, and its releases cover Atmospheric, Liquid Funk and Sambass. Mystific, Fishy, Limitless and Funkware have all released music through the label. Fishy’s “Sunny Morning” came out in 2012, followed by Mystific’s “Hero” in 2017.
The wider DNBB community began online in 2005 as a forum promoting drum and bass in Brazil; more than 26,000 users were active there in 2008. Aaron Mello established DNBB Records in São Paulo in 2012 with the aim of promoting the music in Brazil and internationally. DNBB sees itself as connecting labels, artists and tools around drum and bass and bass music. Its output also includes recordings by Fernanda Porto and DJ Patife.
In 2022, the label group comprised Liquid Flow, Sunshine Recordings, 4Jungle, Creative Records, True Box Records and Soul Light Records. DNBB added Creative Records to its group in 2016 and Liquid Flow in 2019. DJ Marnel supervised the launch of 4Jungle in 2022. DNBB Records also has a London hub alongside its Brazilian base.
