Dome of Doom Records was founded by Wylie Cable in 2011. Based in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the label grew from Cable’s do-it-yourself project, with tapes dubbed by hand and sold to Los Angeles record shops. Its output spans electronic, hip-hop and experimental music, with roots in Los Angeles’s beat scene. The label began putting music out via cassette, SoundCloud and Bandcamp; Cable’s solo album Water Under The Bridge was among its first releases.
Its releases include work by Daedelus, Muadeep and Holly. LMNOP’s single “Rose Gold” arrived in 2016, while Dome of Doom reissued DJ Nobody’s 1996 album Puzzles in 2015 with previously unreleased beats on the B-side. A digital distribution partnership with Alpha Pup Records also began in 2015. In September 2021, the label marked its tenth anniversary with Decade of Doom, a 30-track collection from 2011–2021, issued digitally and as a double LP. Tsuruda’s “Take the Check” followed in 2026.
