Rinse was founded in London in 1994 by DJ Geeneus, and its music policy centres on drum and bass, jungle and garage. The Rinse FM radio station runs regular shows and events, and in 2003 Geeneus set up the Rinse Recordings imprint, which became closely tied to dubstep as the style emerged and has released albums, singles and DJ mix CDs.
Skream, Benga and Katy B have all released on Rinse. Katy B’s “Katy on a Mission” gave the imprint its first chart success in 2010, and her album Little Red followed in 2014. In 2012 the label issued Icicle’s Rinse: 19 mix. More recent drum and bass artists include P Money, Serum, James Hiraeth, Nia Archives and Nu:Tone, and in 2026 Rinse released “Last Day of Summer (Serum Remix)” by Jax Jones, Katy B and Serum. Rinse also runs the sub-label Rinse France.
