Space Yacht began as a project in 2015, before Henry Lu and Rami Perlman launched its Los Angeles-based record label in 2020. Perlman is also known as LondonBridge. The imprint’s first release was “Moving Forward,” a drum-and-bass single by CLB and Formula, issued in October 2020. Its releases span drum and bass, tech house, bass house, and dubstep, among other electronic styles.
Tune Reactor, a weekly Twitch show for listening to and reviewing artists’ demos, supplies some of the label’s music. The broadcast also gives artists seeking A&R feedback a route to the imprint, and its demo-review format became part of the label’s artist discovery and selection process. In January 2021, Space Yacht released its first compilation, Tech My House Vol. 1, with 17 tracks, including music from artists selected through Tune Reactor.
Among the acts with releases on the label are CLB, Formula, and LMNOP. In 2022, Space Yacht put out “My Girl,” a single made by LMNOP and Roy LaCroix. Its 100th release was marked in March 2024 by A Sequence In Time Vol. 3, a compilation containing experimental bass, 140, drum-and-bass, and dubstep tracks.
