J Hus, Little Simz, Giggs and D Double E join a guest cast that cuts across UK rap and rave.
Chase & Status return with Generic Everything, their new Warner Records album, out now. J Hus opens the 10-track run alongside IRAH on “Disgruntled”; Little Simz, Giggs and D Double E also step up, with Blanco, Debbie and Col3trane among the other guests.
The draw is the range of voices in the room. J Hus and Little Simz bring heavyweight rap presence, while grime veteran D Double E links up on “Levels” and IRAH appears again on closing track “Shutdown”. Saam Sultan, Ledbyher and Finesse Kid add further voices to a record that doesn’t lean on one familiar pairing or one lane.
That wide guest list suits a duo whose music has long moved between drum & bass and sounds from across UK club culture. Here, the collaborators give the album its own momentum: different MCs and vocalists taking turns over Chase & Status production, rather than one guest feature carrying the whole story.
Start with “Disgruntled” and “Carnage” for the headline pairings, then run the album through to “Shutdown” and hear how the cast shifts the energy from track to track.
