Warner Records is the Los Angeles-based flagship label of Warner Music Group. It began in 1958 as the recording arm of the Warner Bros. film studio, signed acts from Peter, Paul and Mary to the Grateful Dead in its early decades, and took the Warner Records name in 2019, when it moved from Burbank to downtown Los Angeles. Aaron Bay-Schuck and Tom Corson have run it as co-chairmen since 2018.
In Britain the label sits within Warner Music UK, the London-based company that also takes in Atlantic Records UK, Parlophone and Rhino, led by chairman and CEO Tony Harlow since 2020. Its drum and bass connections run through Chase & Status, who are signed to Warner Records, and through dance releases such as James Hype and Kelli-Leigh's 2017 single "More Than Friends". Bru-C is also on its roster.
