On 13 December, the birthday celebration of DJ Zemine will feature a performance by DJ Pyro (Denmark). We considered it our task to provide you with a personal profile of this producer and DJ, which is what we will attempt to do...
Pyro seriously got into music production three years ago. Together with Paul Reset from Glasgow, he created the project Semantix. In 2000, the Semantix track “Genocide” was released on Trouble On Vinyl (TOV43, Various – “Trouble on Vinyl Volume 9”).
This was followed by releases from Pyro himself on the labels Outbreak, Deeper Realms, Perspective and Flex. The track “Falling”, released on Perspective (featuring vocals by his old friend Shiraz), rose to third place in Five Mighty Rollers—the chart of the show on BBC1 (Radio 1) hosted by the well-known Grooverider and Fabio.
Further collaboration with Paul Reset resulted in a release on Industry (the track “Reflecxion”) and the launch of the label Nerve Recordings in Glasgow, which released another Pyro record, “Tension” b/w “Spaced”. On 11 November this year, the label Killahertz (a record company created by Andy C to support young talent) released a record with Kimera including the tracks “Starlight” and “Eyes Open”.
Pyro has toured Europe as a DJ (Norway and Estonia), performed in Florida and taken part in Roskilde Festival, held in Denmark. Pyro is a resident at the club Dynamics in Copenhagen. Today, Pyro is one of the most promising producers in Europe.
