David Boomah, the stage name of David Williams, linked up with Shy FX around 1993–94 through UK Apachi, then performed on the jungle track Original Nuttah. Boomah was part of the original Original Nuttah crew with UK Apache and Shy FX. In 1995, Boomah and Shy FX made Who Run Tings, a jungle track that helped establish Boomah on the UK scene. Reggae and drum and bass are among his musical interests, and Boomah has said that reggae culture and growing up in Jamaica shaped his songwriting and musical outlook.
Boomah has worked in the studio and toured with Shy FX, Rebel MC, Potential Badboy and Benny Page. His other collaborators include Congo Natty, Tenor Fly, Topcat, Navigator, UK Apache and Calibre. His releases have appeared on Ram Records, V Recordings, Philly Blunt and Spearhead. V Recordings released his album One World Many Cultures in 2014. The 2010 single Respect the Champion / Hot Girlz (Remixes) also came out on V Recordings.
Later releases include the 2022 single Kraken & Lime, made with Carasel and Navigator for Sweeper Team. In 2023, Boomah joined Benny Page and Navigator for the single Warriors Selecta J-Man Remix on ODT Muzik. That year also brought Can't Stop Me / Run Choon, a single with DJ Koncept on Vinyl Combat. Boomah’s work outside music includes youth services: in 2019, he established Forward Ever Inclusive Education CIC to support children and young people.
In 2024, Boomah released two singles with collaborators: Let It All Go with DJ Rap on Propa Talent, and You with Aries and DJ Gaw on Born On Road. The latter followed his collaborations across jungle and drum and bass, while his youth work remained focused on support for children and young people.
