[ K S R ]

Manchester-born vocalist Roosevelt Kazaula Sigsbert records as K S R, drawing on alternative R&B, soul, future soul, hip-hop and drum and bass. He began singing at a young age, including with the Manchester United Foundation Choir, then started writing and recording music independently at 17. His musical development began in 2017. Miguel, D’Angelo, Frank Ocean and Etta Bond are among his influences, and he is from Moss Side, Manchester.

Children of Zeus supported K S R’s early career, and the Manchester hip-hop duo’s Konny Kon DJed at some of his early shows. K S R is featured with DRS on “All on You,” from Children of Zeus’s 2018 album Travel Light. K S R later supported Children of Zeus on a UK tour and opened for Etta Bond on dates of her UK tour. He has worked with Australian artist REMi and UK artist KinKai, and appeared on drum-and-bass tracks with Lenzman, BCee, Emba and Redeyes. His creative process often starts with melodies recorded as voice notes, which he develops with a producer.

K S R released the EP Take Control independently in late 2020, followed by Peace + Harmony in 2021. That year, he issued “Harmless” on First Word Records; Dom Porter produced it, with Eric Lau handling the mix. His 2021 single “Life, Money,” made with BCee, came out on Spearhead Records, as did “Lost Within Your Soul,” a single with Emba. He also worked with Monty and Redeyes on “Almond,” released on FIVE ALLEY in 2021. Other releases include “Sweet” and “Stylin’.” In 2023, Emba joined him for “Lost Within Your Soul (Vektah Remix).” In 2024, BCee, Paul T and Edward Oberon joined him on “Life, Money (Paul T & Edward Oberon Remix).”
