Paul T & Edward Oberon began writing drum and bass together around 2009, after meeting through AOL Instant Messenger and finding common ground in the music they liked. The partnership brought together Paul T, from southeast London, and Edward Oberon, who was born in Wales and grew up in New York. Before joining forces, Paul T had released music on Spearhead, Good Looking and Dispatch. Edward Oberon had put out work as a solo artist and as one half of Saburuko, with releases on Creative Source, Horizons and 31. The pair had also followed each other’s earlier work before they began collaborating.
In 2016, the duo joined V Recordings, where their sound has been described as soulful and emotionally driven, with a gritty, dancefloor-focused edge. Their 2021 album Strange Days brought together vocal contributions from 2Shy MC, Cleveland Watkiss and MC Fats. Cleveland Watkiss appears on “Music’s Got Soul”, while MC Fats features on “Where Do We Go”. The album’s wider run of work includes “Wake Up” and “Somewhere Else”. Serum has worked with the duo on “Moon in Your Eyes” and “Take My Breath Away”; the latter appeared alongside “In Too Deep” on a 2016 single.
Their later singles include “Heading Home”, made with MC Fava for SUNANDBASS Recordings in 2023, and “Kamikaze”, a 2024 V Recordings release featuring MC GQ. In 2025, they worked with Benny L and Sydney Bryce on “Let It Go”, then teamed with Sydney Bryce again for “Moment”, released on Spearhead Records. Another collaboration, “Soul Connected”, features Riya, while MC Moose appears on the single Future Style.
In 2026, “Mash Up The System” paired Paul T & Edward Oberon with Brodie and Enamie. That June, they played at Four Quarters.
