Zero T

Zero T, the stage name of Irish producer and DJ Cian McCann, began making music after discovering jungle in 1995 and started releasing records around 1999. His early releases appeared on Reinforced Records, and he became involved in Dublin’s Bassbin scene, which grew from a club night into a label and a hub for local drum and bass. McCann also performed as Zero Tolerance and is based in London. He describes his approach as working within drum and bass broadly rather than narrowing his music to a subgenre such as liquid. He has also described his career as beginning with a 2000 release on Dublin label Bassbin.

In 2007, McCann released Breakfast Club (Break Remix) / Secada (Total Science Remix) with Beta 2 and Total Science on Computer Integrated Audio. His albums include Cheap Shots (2008), Golden Section (2015) and Little Pieces (2018); other releases include The Roxy Music EP (2012) and Dice Game EP (2015). Labels associated with his work include Footprints, C.I.A., V Recordings and The North Quarter. In 2010, he mixed FabricLive.52. Little Pieces was released through Dispatch Recordings.

McCann met Dublin musician Steo through a mutual friend who was a Bassbin resident DJ. Their first song together was “Refusal,” followed by the vocal track “Walk Away.” In 2022, McCann made the album Kilburn with pianist Andre Louis, also known as Onj. His work with Onj also includes Searchlight, a live jazz-and-soul collaboration with longtime production partner Beta. Other collaborators include Noam Chomsky. McCann’s releases include the 2023 The Underground EP; his 2026 singles include “Gutter EP” on V Recordings, “Onslaught” with Onj and Steo on Hospital Records, and “Blue” with Kathryn Brenna on Generation Liquid. In 2026, he released “Shine (Zero T Remix)” with Jody Sternberg on Bonsaï Music, and “CLIQUES GOT REMIXED VOL 4” with CLIQUES. and Kravitz on CLIQUES Collective Audio.
